Coming off of the confirmation that a fourth game in the Fallout series exists and is on its way, GOG is giving away a trio of classic games as part of its Winter Sale including "Fallout," "Fallout 2" and "Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel," all for free.
Thanks to the games made by the popular developer Bethesda, the Fallout series has reached new levels of popularity in recent years. The studio is responsible for the latest installments of the game "Fallout 3" and "Fallout: New Vegas" having developed the former and published the latter.
Getting your hands on the original games is the perfect way to understand the complete cannon that the newer games are based on. IGN has even created a "history of Wasteland" which chronicles the games that have inspired the Fallout franchise.
If you're interested in purchasing any of the original games, you can do so HERE or by anyone with a free GOG account for the first 48 hours of the Winter Sale, which kicked off on Thursday and runs all the way through Dec. 29.
Earlier this week it was discovered, thanks to some leaked documents, that not only is "Fallout 4" being developed, but that it will be taking place in Massachusetts. The game's cannon has previously referred to the state, and perhaps the Greater New England area, as the "Commonwealth." Several references to Fallout-centric items, characters and lines have been discovered in the documents giving people no reason to doubt that an announcement from Bethesda about a fourth game is on its way.
Will you be downloading any of the original games from the Winter Sale that GOG is having? If so, which ones?
