'Fallout 4' Release Date Rumors: Teaser Website Says 'Nuclear Winter Is Here' Above Dec. 11 Countdown (LINK)

A very mysterious teaser website that many believe exists to hint at the reveal date for a fourth installment in the popular "Fallout" lineup of video games has been updated to include the words "Nuclear winter has come."

Previously the site TheSruvivor2299.com held only a countdown clock and a Morse Code beep. The clock expires on December 11 of this year and the Morse Code beep is a date that expires the following day. Now, after the update that occurred earlier on Tuesday, the words now appear just above the countdown. While the update and mention of something like a "nuclear winter" absolutely lend credence to the rumors that the site was built as a way to reveal the next installment in the popular post-apocalyptic game franchise.

Previously, a Reddit user discovered that the site was registered to ZeniMax Media Inc. as a result of tracing its javascript code. A whois directory search identified ZeniMax media, which owns the Bethesda developer/publisher divisions. This obviously adds more fuel to the rumor fire that this site has something to do with the "Fallout 4" release.

However, as IGN points out ZeniMax registered both Wolfenstein and The Elder Scrolls' domains through Corporate Domains Inc. Meanwhile, TheSurvivor2299 was registered with GoDaddy.com. In addition, ZeniMax uses its own DNS servers for its registrations (ns1.zenimax.com) while TheSurvivor2299 uses separate, self-branded server" ns1.thesurvivor2299.com. In other while the site can be linked back to the developer, it doesn't link to it in any conventionally or expected way. Circumventing this level of scrutiny seems above and beyond the call of duty for a developer trying to cleverly tease his or her new game's launch.

Only time will tell. With the countdown clock ending just a little more than a week from now, is it possible we'll see an announcement from Bethesda revealing "Fallout 4" or perhaps a change to TheSurvivor2299 showing some kind of teaser trailer?

What do you think. Is the website legitimate or just some bit of Internet scrap? Comment and share your thoughts with us below.
