There's been some discussion for a while now that the sequel to "Man of Steel" would be a Justice League-type of movie featuring a bunch of different superheroes. While this hasn't been confirmed, actor Stephen Amell has reignited the rumor mill after confirming to Fandago that he has spoken to Warner Bros. about a role in "Batman Vs. Superman."
According to comicbookmovie.com, Amell claims he's had a meeting about playing the Green Arrow in Zack Snyder's upcoming film. The actor was extremely vague, of course, and didn't go into details about the meeting or how long ago the meeting took place but that could mean DC-based TV shows like "Arrow" could be teaming up with the DC Universe in the sequel.
Here's what Amell had to say:
"All we have to do for something like that to happen, or even be a possibility, is continued to take care of business with our show and then we put ourselves in a position - but the important thing is our show. I have had discussions, but I think the gestation process for this project is a lot slower than most people think. I mean, they haven't even shot the next one. They haven't even shot a frame of the movie before the movie everyone thinks is the Justice League movie!"
Recently Warner Bros. announced that "Man of Steel 2," which hasn't been given an official title yet, would be delayed for 10 months. The film starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman was originally given a release date of July 17, 2015 but was pushed back to May 6, 2016.
According to CNN, representatives for the studio said the delay was to allow "filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story."
In other Batman news, the site Latino Review dug up a message board post that claims to have inside information about the plot. The post came from a site called NeoGaf. Among the plot spoilers: Lex Luthor and Metallo will be the only villains in the film, Aquaman will make an appearance but won't be called Aquaman and Robin and Batman are no longer friends.
