Surface Book 2 Design
As mentioned, the Surface Book 2 is a hybrid device. It is a laptop and a tablet (called the Clipboard) rolled into one hybrid device.
Now, the Surface Book 2 is said to have a major design upgrade. The gap between the keyboard and the Clipboard is minimized to avoid accumulation of dirt. The Surface Book 2 specs also include an improved hinge for smoother detaching of the Clipboard.
Intel Kaby Lake and RedStone OS
Surface Book 2 specs run on the latest Intel seventh generation chipset, the Intel Kaby Lake. This is the most powerful chipset to date, making HD screen display, VR, and even 3D Graphics possible.
The Surface Book is also said to run in Microsoft's latest OS to be launched in 2017, the Red Stone 2 OS. The tech giant is said to drop the Windows brand in favor of the RedStone OS brand.
Other Surface Book 2 Specs
Microsoft Surface Book 2 specs also includes Intel HD Graphics 520 GPU for enhanced screen resolution. The new Surface Book 2 will also be available in base and high-end variants with 2K and 4K displays, respectively.
The battery life is also said to be drastically improved, with separate batteries already for the keyboard and Clipboard. This change can upgrade Surface Book 2 specs to last up to 14 hours.
Surface Pen
The Microsoft Surface Book 2 will also include a Surface Pen, but an upgraded one compared to the Surface Book 1's. Better performance is expected in the new Surface Pen.
But unlike the Apple Pen, which has to be bought separately, the Surface Pen is already included in the Surface Book 2 Price.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 price will be around $1,433 and $2,921 for the base and high-end models, respectively.
Surface Book 2 Release Date
If ever the Microsoft Surface Book 2 will be revealed on Microsoft's event on October 26, the actual Surface Book 2 release date is not expected until 2017.
Microsoft is said to be waiting patiently for the release of Intel Kaby Lake (late 2016) and RedStone 2 OS (2017).
