Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has everything a 2-in-1 PC Tablet should have.

The technology giant is expected to unveil the much-anticipated Surface Pro 5 in its event on October 26. The unveiling will also include Microsoft's newest All-in-One (AOI) PC.

Release Date

However, if indeed the predecessor of the Surface Pro 4 will be unveiled this October, the Surface Pro 5 is not expected to be released until 2017.

Apparently, Microsoft is taking precious time in developing and manufacturing the Surface Pro 5.

Intel Kaby Lake

The new Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is waiting for the mass production of Intel's newest seventh generation chipset. Intel Kaby Lake processor will only be available by the end of 2016.

Hence, a 2017 release for the Surface Pro 5 will be more plausible.

RedStone OS

The Surface Pro 5 is expected to run in RedStone OS. This will be Microsoft's newest Operating System, which is due to be launched on 2017.

According to PC World, Microsoft is planning to ditch the Windows OS brand in favor of the RedStone OS. Rumor has it that Windows 10 will be the last OS under the Windows brand.

Other Features

The Surface Pro 5 will have an upgraded camera with 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. It will be available in 2K and 4K display screens with an upgraded Surface Pen with rechargeable battery.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also expected to be extremely fast with 16 GB RAM. Additionally, it will be equipped with the USB Type-C Port for faster data transfer and charging of battery.

Price

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to be in the range of $1000, more or less. Although, at this point, it is very difficult to gauge.
