Last week HNGN cashed in with a 12-4 record for Week 3 to bring the overall count to 30-18 on the season. There are a number of bye weeks for Week 4, so there will be fewer selections, which means there is less room for error.
Here are the teams we won't be seeing in action: Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks. Check out our selections below:
Giants at Redskins, Thursday @ 8:25 p.m.
The Giants offense finally came alive last week against the Texans and scored 30 points in their first win of the season. The Redskins lost a heartbreaker to Philadelphia after putting up 34 points behind Kirk Cousins' big day. But the Giants have won six of their last eight games against the Redskins at FedEx Field and I think they'll continue to protect the ball better.
Giants 27, Redskins 26
Packers at Bears, Sunday @ 1:00 p.m.
Aaron Rodgers is mad this week. The frustrated Packers fans are growing impatient with the team's poor play and even went as far as blaming Rodgers' girlfriend, Olivia Munn, for the quarterback's struggles. Green Bay has won their last four games on the road at Soldier Field and although the Bears are 2-1 with two solid primetime wins, they still look a bit shaky and are missing a lot of people on defense.
Packers 23, Bears 20
Bills at Texans, Sunday @ 1:00 p.m.
The Giants gashed the Texans defense with the running game last week while the Chargers completely shut down the Bills offense. With Arian Foster out, Houston looked ineffective and there's a chance he isn't 100% healthy this week. E.J. Manuel needs to start throwing the ball downfield more, and I think they'll start working on that this week.
Bills 19, Texans 14
Titans at Colts, Sunday @ 1:00 p.m.
Tennessee really had some bad luck with the beginning of their schedule this year. They started off the year in Kansas City (which is a tough task, but they won), then faced Dallas at home and traveled to Cincinnati last week where they were dismantled. The Colts have won 10 of the last 11 matchups against the Titans, so it's safe to say after Sunday it will be 11 out of the last 12.
Colts 31, Titans 20
Panthers at Ravens, Sunday @ 1:00 p.m.
The last time these two teams met was in 2010 and the Ravens won handily 37-13. That won't be the case this time around, but the Panthers did show some weakness last Sunday night against the Steelers and I think the Ravens will capitalize on that.
Ravens 24, Panthers 20
Lions at Jets, Sunday @ 1:00 p.m.
These two teams feature solid front sevens on defense but very questionable secondaries. It could either be a shootout or a defensive showdown, and I'm going to go with a shootout in favor of the Jets. Geno Smith will be sure to not throw any boneheaded interceptions this week.
Jets 31, Lions 28
Buccaneers at Steelers, Sunday @ 1:00 p.m.
Although the Steelers aren't great this year, they're much too fundamental to lose to a dismal team such as the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay dropped their first two games against backup quarterbacks and then was annihilated last Thursday night by the Falcons, 56-14. Pittsburgh will make it quick and painless.
Steelers 24, Tampa Bay 13
Dolphins at Raiders (at Wembley Stadium in London), Sunday @ 1:00 p.m.
There's too much controversy surrounding the inexperienced and volatile Dolphins for them to effectively respond the following week on another continent. The Raiders played Tom Brady and the Patriots very tough last week, and I think Derek Carr gets his first NFL win overseas.
Raiders 20, Dolphins 16
Jaguars at Chargers, Sunday @ 4:05 p.m.
Speaking of volatile, that's the Chargers' middle name. San Diego blew an 11-point fourth quarter lead against Arizona in Week 1 and then followed that up by dominating the Super Bowl champion Seahawks 30-21 in Week 2. Now with both Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead out, the Jaguars can limit their focus on Antonio Gates and Keenan Allen. Blake Bortles will win his first NFL start.
Jaguars 23, Chargers 21
Falcons at Vikings, Sunday @ 4:25
Teddy Bridgewater will now be starting for the Vikings, whose defense was impressive last week on the road against the Saints. However, the Falcons' balanced attack might be too much for them to handle this week, especially after Atlanta had 10 days of rest. Bridgewater will have to wait for his first win.
Falcons 27, Vikings 17
Eagles at 49ers, Sunday @ 4:25 p.m.
This is probably the toughest pick of the week. Despite their Week 1 victory in Dallas, the 49ers have looked lost over the past two games after surrendering second half leads and committing a total of 25 penalties. The Eagles will be the fastest offense they've seen this season and I don't think the San Fran defense will be able to handle it without Navarro Bowman and Aldon Smith.
Eagles 27, 49ers 23
Saints at Cowboys, Sunday @ 8:30
The Saints have won eight of the last 10 matchups against the Cowboys, including all four that were in Dallas. The Cowboys offense and defense looks like they're slowly coming together, but they are still turning the ball over. If they get into a 21-0 hole against the Saints this week like they did against the Rams last week, they likely won't have a shot at coming back.
Saints 33, Cowboys 27
Patriots at Chiefs, Monday @ 8:30 p.m.
Two excellent teams from 2013 are now looking mediocre in 2014. The Patriots scored a combined 36 points against the Dolphins and Raiders and seemingly still have some question marks on offense. The Chiefs played the Broncos tough in Week 2 and beat the Dolphins handily last week, so I think Andy Reid will pull it off on Monday night.
Chiefs 24, Patriots 23
