Square Enix is not planning to feature “Final Fantasy XV” and “Kingdom Hearts 3” during this year’s E3 conference.

During an interview with Famitsu (via IGN), Square Enix's Shinji Hashimoto confirmed the next installment of their most popular titles won’t be making an official appearance at E3.

“First of all, I’d like to mention that the development of Final Fantasy XV is going smoothly,” Hashimoto told Famitsu. “At the company, we are constantly assessing the best timing for delivering new information regarding Final Fantasy XV to our fans. Amidst the process of reviewing our promotional plan, we determined that this year’s E3 was not the best time for delivering information regarding Final Fantasy XV. Instead, we’re planning, and currently preparing towards disclosing new information during this year’s post-E3 events.”

“We appreciate that our fans hold high expectations for Final Fantasy XV, and I, myself, am excited about providing new information at the next best opportunity,” he added. “We’d be very happy if everyone, too, could look forward to that moment.”

As for the in-development “Kingdom Hearts 3”, Hashimoto claims Square Enix needs more time to deliver news regard the title. However, the gaming studio recently released a small teaser “Kingdom Hearts 3” during a trailer for “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix.” You can check out the teaser starting at 2:30 in the video below.

Rumors regarding a possible delay in “Kingdom Hearts 3” development surfaced back in February. Series producer Yoshinori Kitase shot down the rumors in an interview with VideoGamer.com, claiming "Final Fantasy XV" development was definitely the studio’s priority, but it doesn’t mean “Kingdom Hearts 3” is on hold.

"We can't give too much information but certainly looking at Final Fantasy XV, it's not as if it's in competition with Kingdom Hearts 3 for resources or anything like that," Kitase said. "It's quite far into development now and it is being given a very high priority within the company itself, but that doesn't mean Kingdom Hearts isn't."
