The fiancée of "All My Children" actor Alec Musser revealed that the late 50-year-old committed suicide via a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

People reported that the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office also confirmed the cause of death after he was found dead at the scene at his Del Mar, California home beside a firearm police and Press identified as a shotgun.

However, the coroners did not provide any contributing conditions to Musser's death.

In a press release immediately after Musser's death, Press said she last saw him alive before she went to bed on January 12 and only found the body of her lifeless partner "slumped forward on the bathroom floor" the next morning.

"RIP to the love of my life," Press wrote in an Instagram story following the discovery. "I will never stop loving you. My heart is broken."

Musser's Career Highlights

Musser starred in "All My Children," a long-running soap opera in the early 2000s, appearing in 43 episodes between 2005 and 2007.

Prior to this, he participated and won during the second season of the reality show "I Wanna Be a Soap Star," which launched his acting career.

He went on to play roles in the series "Rita Rocks" and "Desperate Housewives," as well as a short sequence in "Grown Ups," which was starred and co-written by Adam Sandler.

"I loved this guy," Sandler wrote about his role in the film. "[I cannot] believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny, good man."

Aside from TV and film, Musser also made a name for himself in the fitness industry. During his prime, he was a model and bodybuilder who was frequently shown in magazines such as Men's Health.
