The NBA decided to ban individuals from the FedEx Forum who were involved in a heated confrontation following the game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Indiana Pacers last month.

Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant's friends reportedly "aggressively confronted" Indiana Pacers personnel after their game at the FedEx Forum last month.

The group of Ja Morant followed the Pacers' crew around in a slow-moving SUV while pointing a red laser at them, according to a report from The Athletic.

The Pacers and extra security assumed the laser was hooked to a gun, but it's unknown who controlled it. Ja Morant was in the SUV per the report.

Both Tee Morant (Ja's father) and Davonte Pack (one of Ja's friends) were seen shouting at Pacers players during the Memphis Grizzlies victory against Indiana on January 29.

Ja Morant challenged Andrew Nembhard of the Pacers after Nembhard told the older Morant to "shut up." After cursing at Indiana players, Pack was removed from the court, but the altercation persisted for around 15 to 20 minutes, per YardBarker.

Then Pack and Morant got in an SUV and headed for the Pacers' bus. The Pacers then noticed red lasers being pointed toward their vehicle.

NBA Investigation Confirms Hostile Postgame Incident

The NBA investigated the incident and decided to ban individuals from FedExForum games after the Indiana Pacers filed charges.

NBA security and league detectives started an "investigation, interviewing numerous eyewitnesses" and analyzing video footage, according to ESPN.

According to the probe's findings, it was confirmed that a hostile postgame scene emerged; based on interviews and other information acquired, the NBA could not verify that any person endangered others with a weapon.

"Certain individuals involved in the postgame situation and a related matter during the game that night have been subsequently banned from attending games in the arena," the NBA said in a statement. It added that the league administration will launch a further investigation if new evidence about the Memphis Grizzlies postgame circumstances becomes available.
