A children's entertainment facility in Long Island is under fire for hosting an adult "pajama party" on Saturday night, CBS News reported.
The adults-only event took place at Krazy Kidz in Medford, New York. After parents expressed their outrage at the party being held at the facility, the owner issued multiple apologies on their Facebook page.
"The staff at Krazy Kidz continues to apologize for the obvious lack of judgment that has resulted in everyone's concerns and comments," the statement read. "To further restore the public's trust we are closed today for an additional cleaning and sanitizing and will reopen on Wednesday Feb 5th. As always, The cleanliness of our facility has continued to be second to none. We welcome your comments both positive and negative and ask for understanding at this time. Please understand that the safety and welfare of our customers has always been our top concern and anyone who has been to our facility will agree."
Previous posts on the social media website addressed concerns about the "less than tasteful behavior" that occurred at the facility during the party and added that none of the staff was involved in the event.
Additionally, the owner said the only reason the event was allowed at Krazy Kidz was to help cover costs of operating.
The posts on the company's Facebook page have been actively commented on, showing that some adults do not believe the criticism is necessary.
"This is a private business. They have bills to pay and have to make money some how. Just because you may not attend such parties others may. You all Judge others. That is very wrong. And to say this place is not safe because of party, WHY? how is it unsafe? No kids were present, it was not during the middle of the day, it has been thoroughly cleaned. Don't be so Judgemental, PLAIN AND SIMPLE," one Facebook user wrote.
Plenty of others were not as forgiving.
"It wont be long before you are out of business," a second user wrote. "No one will want their children there. Totally disgusting and my family will NEVER take their children to your establishment again. Your company has no dignity or moral."
