Man Jumps To His Death From 33-Story JPMorgan Case London Building

A technology vice president at JPMorgan Chase's London headquarters jumped from the 33-story building Tuesday morning, plunging to his death.

The man, identified as 39-year-old Gabriel Magee, jumped from the roof of the 500 feet skyscraper at around 8 a.m. He landed on the roof of the ninth floor, The Independent reported.

Emergency responders arrived minutes later in response to calls of "a person fallen from a height," The Independent reported.

"We sent one ambulance crew, a duty officer, our hazardous area response team and London Air Ambulance to the scene," a London Ambulance Service spokesman told The Independent. "Sadly, a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene."

Magee had worked at Chase since 2004. Reports say he was a technology vice president and did not participate in banking or trading. Police said they did not rule Magee's death as suspicious.

"We are deeply saddened to have lost a member of the JP Morgan family at 25 Bank Street today," a bank spokeswoman told The Independent. "Our thoughts and sympathy are with his family and friends."

The building located in London's financial district is the headquarters of Chase's Middle East, Africa and Europe operations, The Independent reported.

Employees who witnessed Magee's jump tweeted their disbelief.

"Sad scene. Someone jumped/fell at JPMorgan Canary Wharf. A sorry view from my desk. Police everywhere, but nobody approaching the body, odd," Andrew Lawrence tweeted.

"Just watch the police finally remove that poor bankers body 4 and half hours later with only a white sheet over him #jpmorgan #canarywharf," Amie Hughes-Gage tweeted.

Reports of Magee's death came just one day after a freshman at New York University jumped from a 15-story dormitory building on Third Avenue. Titan Lee-Hai,18, was naked and allegedly high on mushrooms when he went to the roof and jumped to his death on Monday.
