Some weeks before Huawei had conducted a launch event for its new flagship device Mate 9 that includes Mate 9 Porsche Design, but the rumored Huawei 9 Lite did not make the cut that time. Now, the more affordable Mate 9 variant made its silent debut in Huawei's website product listing as "Huawei Mate 9 Lite".

The Mate 9 Lite is for the users who are looking for a more affordable Mate 9 experience. It is a 5.5-inch FHD display smartphone with 2.5D curved glass on top, which is for the users who really want to experience the lighter version of Mate 9 series, reports GSM Arena.

The Huawei Mate 9 Lite is equipped with quad-core Kirin 655 processor and is coming with 3GB of RAM. The phone is having a 32GB of internal storage but unfortunately that cannot be expanded. The phone runs Android 6.0 and is powered by a 3340mAh non removable battery.

The Huawei Mate 9 Lite is a dual SIM smartphone that measures 150.90 x 76.20 x 8.20 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 162.00 grams. For connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope.

Huawei says that the 1.25μm large pixel Sensor in its 12MP rear camera will be able to take clear and vibrant photos in low light and at night. On the other side, the 8MP selfie camera will have a wider angle lens.

According to iTechPost, the Mate 9 Lite comes in three different colours that are, Gray, Gold and Silver. Mate 9 Lite will use dual-camera technology like its predecessors.

It's not yet publicized when the Mate 9 Lite becomes available in the market. It is also expected to cost significantly less than Mate 9 and Mate 9 Porsche Design. The images of the Huawei Mate 9 Lite were leaked back on Nov. 7, according to the Android Headlines and this occurred as the device was passing through the FCC.
