Another person linked to Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriot's player charged with murder, has died Monday.
According to the Associated Press, authorities found Tabitha Perry, 27, unconscious and not breathing inside a home in Southington, Connecticut. The cause of death has yet to be determined. Police said they're waiting until the state medical examiner's office gets results from toxicology tests before determining the cause of death.
"There was no suspicious circumstances found at the time of the investigation," Sargent Jeffry Dobratz said in a release obtained by the Associated Press.
Six months ago, Perry survived a car crash that killed Thaddeus Singleton, who was married to Hernandez's cousin. Police say Perry had a child with Singleton, the AP reported. Perry, who is from Bristol like Hernandez, was also friends with several others whose names came up during police investigation, The Hartford Courant reported.
Hernandez pleaded not guilty after his arrest in June for the shooting death of Odin Lloyd, 27. Lloyd's body was found near Hernandez's home in North Attleborough, Massachusetts on June 17. Hernandez is also suspected of being involved in a 2012 double homicide where two men were killed in a drive-by in Boston.
Perry had been interviewed by police in relation to Lloyd's death. She and Singleton got into a car accident on June 30. The car they were in went out of control, flew 100 feet into the air and crashed into the wall of the Farmington Country Club, The Hartford Courant reported. Perry was injured but survived the accident.
Robert Valentine, the brother of Hernandez's mother, also died in a car crash in August. Police said both car crashes were accidents, the AP reported.
Tanya Singleton, Hernandez's cousin who was married to Thaddeus Singleton, was also arrested and charged as an accessory to Lloyd's death. Police suspect that Thaddeus Singleton introduced Hernandez to Earnest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz. Both have also been arrested as Hernandez's accomplices in Lloyd's death.
"Five months...everyone around me is gone," Johnny Booze, who was friends with Wallace and Tanya Singleton, told The Hartford Courant. "It's painful, it's hard."
