Mark Wahlberg Offers Clarification For Alleged Tom Cruise Slamming

Mark Wahlberg offered clarification for his recent slamming of actors who compared their careers to that of a soldier's, which was construed to be indirectly referring to Tom Cruise.

In a recent Q&A session after the screening of "Lone Survivor" where Mark Wahlberg plays the role of a Navy Seal on a mission in Afghanistan, the actor blasted other Hollywood actor who compared their careers to that of a soldier's.

"For actors to sit there and talk about, 'Oh, I went to SEAL training,' I don't give a f*** what you did. You don't do what these guys did," the actor said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "For somebody to sit there and say, 'My job was as difficult as being in the military?' How f****** dare you, while you sit in a makeup chair for two hours."

"I don't give a s*** if you get your a** busted," he continued.. "You get to go home at the end of the day. You get to go to your hotel room."

The statement was construed to have been made referring to actor Tom Cruise. This assumption was made with regard to a recent statement by Cruise's lawyer in an ongoing defamation case. Cruise is suing two magazines for reporting that he had abandoned his daughter Suri. In a deposition submitted, Cruise's lawyer compared the actor's being away from his daughter on a long movie shoot as "serving in Afghanistan." What added fuel to fire was Wahlberg mentioning about a comment made by an "actor recently."

Now, according to a new TMZ report, the "Italian Job" actor told a TMZ cameraman Thursday that his comment was misinterpreted and he wasn't referring to Cruise when he made that statement.

"I didn't know that Tom Cruise was the one who said that," he reportedly told the gossip site. "I love Tom Cruise."

ahlberg has always been very sentimental about anything related to military. He is known for his contribution to charities that honor U.S. troops. After shooting for his latest film, the actor revealed that even with training for his role, nothing prepared him for the actual life of a soldier.
