Sarah Silverman's mother, Beth Ann O'Hara, has passed away.

O'Hara was 73 years old when she died on August 19, according to Us Weekly. A cause of death has not been announced, but Silverman took to social media to pay a touching tribute to her mother. Naturally, the 44-year-old "Masters of Sex" star and comedian used some humor to lighten the mood a little and remember her mom in the most amazing way.

"Wednesday morning my Mom died," the post read alongside a photo of O'Hara. "She was a know-it-all in overalls & two different colored socks. And defiantly, no bra. The woman who, when I was little, gave me detailed directions to a restaurant ladies room then secretly watched as I found my way to it on my own. The woman who went back to college at 42, and skinny dipped in ponds, and told me never to protect myself from a broken heart because it was so very worth the pain to get to experience love."

O'Hara was a big part of the theater community, according to New Hampshire Public Radio. She had directed 50 plays in just 25 years and was known as "mom" to many Granite State actors.

Back in 2003, at the New Hampshire Theater Awards, Silverman presented her loving mother with the lifetime achievement award, according to Page Six.

"Loving, nurturing, caring, colorful-she used to wear two different socks, I'm sure she was aware of that-supportive, honest, strong, and with endless creativity and energy," Silverman said at the time. "She gives us the feeling that we fill her heart with love and I think it's because we fill her heart with love. Mom...we feel the same. You fill our hearts, as well."

Services were held in Manchester on Friday. She is survived by Silverman and her four older sisters, and her husband Donald Silverman.
