JWoww and Snooki: Judge Rules Filming Of The MTV Reality Show Can Film On Pelican Island Despite Objections From Townspeople

An Ocean County Superior Court Judge has lifted a ban previously placed on the filming of a reality show starring former Jersey Shore cast mates JWoww and Snooki on Pelican Island earlier this week.

Judge E. david Millard said he won't stop the production of MTV's "Snooki & JWoww" in a house on Pelican Island despite complaints from residents of the town. The area is currently in the process of rebuilding itself after it was devastated by Superstorm Sandy. This presented an issue for townspeople who sought municipal officials to say no to overwhelming the already small island with camera crews and the fanfare that comes with filming "Snooki & JWoww."

Judge Millard's decision comes after a lengthy process that ultimately resulted in the duo being allowed to spend their summer filming the series to be released at an undetermined time on MTV.

Residents of the community seem to have warmed up to the gang as well as their production crew. One resident, who lives just across the street from the house Snooki and JWoww are filming in said she's actually enjoying production according to reports from Philly.com.

"The people are very nice. The guys that do security are very friendly," said Rocco Vita. "The actors themselves say hello and I have a 15-year-old daughter getting a kick out of it."

Despite the accommodating nature of the staff, people like Ron Gasiorowski are still hoping to save the town the headache and are trying to get MTV out of the neighborhood. Gasiorowski, according to the Inquisitr, as well as some other residents at Pelican Island believe the production is violating the town's zoning ordinance. The owner of another neighboring house has filed an application for a variance once they found out the house is meant for residential use only. No ruling has been issued regarding the zoning permits as of yet.
