Apparently the residence of New Jersey's Berkeley Township don't want former Jersey Shore cast members Snooki and JWOWW returning to the town, especially not with a full camera crew.
The residents of the New Jersey community have reportedly hired an attorney to block the former "Jersey Shore" stars planned summer vacation to its Pelican Island, according to the Associated Press. The duo was scheduled to film the third season of their reality TV spinoff series "Snookie and JWOWW," which follows the day-to-day lives of Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jennifer Farley a.k.a. JWOWW.
The majority of the homes in the small island community are still being rebuilt after the island was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy last October. With only 25 or so residence having moved back to their homes, those who live in the nearby communities, displaced by the storm are worried the presence will turn the place into a circus and be overwhelming for residence trying to rebuild their first summer back since the storm, according to the Star-Ledger of Newark.
Upon hearing the news, Snooki took to her Instagram account to voice her opinion on the matter.
"Adults are trying to ban my son, fiancé and I from enjoying our summer at the shore,' she wrote on her social networking page. 'Grow up, get over yourself and move on," she wrote. "This is not how we should be treating one another. Absolutely sick and very sad. I pray for you. There's much bigger things to worry about in life than trying to ban my family from your neighborhood."
However, her family's presence doesn't seem to be what's bothering residents as much as the massive entity that MTV's film crew would bring to the community.
"We have nothing against free enterprise or anything like that," Ed Hoffman, a Berkeley Township resident who has lived on Pelican Island for 25 years told The Star-Leddger. "But you have to have concerns about where this is going to take place. It's going opt take place in a residential neighborhood and it's going to be overwhelming to the residents."
Snooki was undeterred by the plea and still takes the actiosn of the residents as a personal attack against her family. She later posted to her Twitter page saying: "If my 'actions' like playing with my son is bringing the wrong 'crowd,' then obviously we are on too different pages here. I stick up for my fam."
