During the "The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose" host Chris Harrison revealed that the new Bachelor for 2014 is fan-favorite Juan Pablo Galavis. Galavis, a former soccer player from Venezuela, will be the first time ABC has chosen a non-white Bachelor, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Usually the big reveal happens in September with filming beginning in January but with the success of the most recent season of "The Bachelorette" with Desiree Hartsock, producers might have pushed everything up to continue on the high rating streak.

The 32-year-old Latin hunk, who now lives in Miami, will become the very first non-Caucasian Bachelor or Bachelorette in franchise history. There have been a total of nine Bachelorettes and 17 Bachelors, with Brad Womack starring on the show twice.

The show has however featured minority suitors. Many fans of the series was hoping this would be the first time they would get to see an African-American as a Bachelor. In the past the show has been criticized for their lack of diversity with Harrison telling E! News in an interview that they were definitely looking "for someone new."

Galavis has been one of 25 available men competing for Hartsock's attention during the recent season. According to THR, Galavis, who is a father to a 4-year-old daughter named Camila, said he has never watched "The Bachelor" or "The Bachelorette" before appearing on the show. During last month's "Men Tell All" he said that a friend signed him up for the show and after he met with producers he figured he would give it a try.

In recent weeks his name was only one of several possible mentions to become the next guy handing out roses. Drew Kenney, Zak Waddell and Jef Holm were also mentioned.

Juan Pablo has been one of 25 men competing for the Hartsock's attention during the recent season of "The Bachlorette." He is a single father to a 4-year-old girl named Camila.

"The Bachelor" will return in January.

Meanwhile during the season finale of "The Bachelorette" Hartsock accepted Chris Siegfried's proposal.
