"Under the Dome” has been one of the biggest hits of the summer, keeping us on the edge of our seats and forcing us to be invested in—and ask questions about—each character in Chester’s Mills. We are already wondering what will happen to Norrie and Joe (both romantically and in their connection to the dome), who the heck Barbie really is and what Sherriff Linda will do when arresting people just isn’t good enough.

But what about ‘Big Jim’ Rennie? Dean Norris recently said there are some big changes coming for his character and Junior, according to TVGuide.com.

Norris explained that we will soon get to learn about Junior’s mother.

“It's one of my favorite episodes that we've been building to. We deal with a turning point in our relationship,” Norris said in his interview with TVGuide.com. “Junior has been told one thing about what his mother has gone through and I reveal something else that really happened with his mom and it's a pretty emotional point.

“You see a part of Big Jim that you never, ever would've thought you'd see.”

A part of “Big Jim” we have seen before is his ability to assert his authority and power. We know that the small dome with the egg-shaped thing inside probably runs the entire thing. Norris admitted as much, but didn’t let on about anything else.

“ The question is: When does Big Jim find out about the mini-dome, what does he do about it, what does he know about it and what is he going to do to take control of it?” said Norris, answering a question with a few of his own.

He also discussed the arrival of Natalie Zea (we know her for most recently playing Claire Matthews on “The Following”.)

In addition to admitting Zea was one of his, “favorite actresses”, Norris said “Big Jim” and Zea’s character will somehow be connected.

“Under the Dome” airs on CBS, Mondays at 10/9c.
