Justice league heroes, Batman and Superman, will soon appear on the big screen together in an upcoming, yet-to-be named film that will begin production next year.

Director Zack Snyder made a surprise announcement during the Warner Bros. panel at Comic Con - Hollywood's two biggest super heroes of all times, Superman and Batman,  will unite on the big screen.  The yet-to-be-named film will begin production  next year for a summer 2015 release.

Can there be a better union than the two best American superheroes from DC Comics appearing alongside each other to give the audience a taste of new adventure and action on the big screen. After Snyder's "Man of Steel" set new records for the biggest June opening, expectations from the sequel will be very high.

"Man of Steel" made record earnings of $125.1 million in the first weekend. The film has made over $630 million worldwide, Warner Bros said, according to NY Times.

"I'm so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can't wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter," Snyder said in a statement. "Let's face it, it's beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Superheroes in the world."

Henry Cavill will appear with his co-stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane in the "Man of Steel" sequel. But in what might be called the biggest collaboration of all times, a great disappointment is that Christian Bale, who starred as Batman in "The Dark Knight" trilogy, will not be seen in the upcoming film.

Earlier this month, Bale publicly announced that he wouldn't be joining the fourth movie in the franchise. But the actor is not disappointed to pass the Batman's cowl to the actor who will be cast as the next Caped Crusader. However, "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan will serve as one of the executive producers for the upcoming Superman-Batman film, reports CNN News.

"It's a torch that should be handed from one actor to another," he told Entertainment Weekly. "So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with."

The cast for the new role of Batman is not confirmed, but Bale has set the standards pretty high so whoever will be chosen for the new role should be ready to woo the hearts of the audience.
