Amanda Seyfried goes from virginal, doe-eyed Cozette in "Les Miserable" to sultry 70s sexual icon in the upcoming film "Lovelace."
The actress plays the raunchier role of porn star Linda Lovelace, the star of the 1972 porno "Deep Throat."
The film is about 20-year-old Lovelace being seduced by Chuck Taynor (Peter Sarsgaard). He forces Lovelace into the porn industry, and later becomes her abusive pimp.
Seyfried has talked about filming the movie that includes sexual scenes. According to Cosmopolitan Australia, the actress used a popsicle during the oral sex scenes.
Lovelace's story is filled with tragedy including teen pregnancy, prostitution, rape, drug use, and domestic abuse. These issues are just a few things the accidental porn star experienced it.
Deep Throat, the successful hardcore sex film made Lovelace the world's first porn superstar, but later an "unlikely feminist icon after it emerged she had effectively been raped in making it," according to the Daily Mail. The film's budget was $30,000 with production taking less than a week, but earned $600 million in sales.
"When you see the movie Deep Throat, you are watching me being raped," Lovelace told an official inquiry into the sex industry in 1986, according to the Daily Mail. "It is a crime that movie is still showing. There was a gun to my head the entire time."
During a rough time in her life, Lovelace met Chuck Traynor and her life soon after spiraled out of control. She married Traynor, who she condemned for being abusive and introduced her to drugs. According to the Daily Mail, Traynor controlled her life and abused their children
The cast includes A-list actors like Sharon Stone, Adam Brody, Chris Noth, Juno Temple, Chloe Sevigny, and James Franco who portrays Playboy magazine's Hugh Hefner.
