With the debut of her new single "Woman's World" on last night's finale of "The Voice," Cher breaks her silence on her brand new album that is slated to be released later this year.
According to Billboard, who spoke with the legendary singer, she revealed some interesting details about her brand new record and how she was receiving songs left and right. "Then Pink gave me a beautiful song," Cher said. "Then Mark (Taylor), the man who produced the 'Believe' album, came up with four great songs. There was a beautiful country song and a song a friend of mine and I wrote for 'Interview with a Vampire' that got turned down.
"Woman's World" was performed last night on the reality competition and was produced and co-written by Paul Oakenfold. "It's very eclectic, you know. The songs are good songs that just happen to be together," said the Academy-Award winner on the songs to be featured on the upcoming album.
After performing on the show, Cher did admit it was "scary" and "It's very exciting, makes you feel elated. I like being on it, but I don't like going on it."
"I did a couple things on this album, ventured into places that I haven't gone and I really enjoyed that," said the "Believe" singer, who is taking a few risks with her new material. "I took some chances on this album and when it turned out to be good, I was pleased."
"Closer to the Truth" will be released on September 24 and this will be her first album in almost 12 years. Her last album "Living Proof" was released in 2001.
