The NFL wants a franchise in Los Angeles. It's the second-biggest media market in the country with a slew of attractive money-making opportunities. With the offseason fast approaching, buzz about a potential move will continue to get louder.

When it comes to an L.A. based franchise, the most common teams you hear about are the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams. At least one of them will eventually be moving.

Daniel Kaplan of Sports Business Journal reported last month that the NFL was considering moving the time frame for relocation applications back from Jan. 1 through Feb. 15 to Feb. 2 through Feb. 15. However, that may not be the case.

"According to the league office, no decision has been made on whether the NFL will delay the commencement of the relocation period from January 1," Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk wrote"...It was believed the topic would be addressed at this week's ownership meeting. Ultimately, the decision would come not from ownership but from the league office."

ESPN's Tom Carpenter believes that "there is a realistic chance that a team or two could move to L.A. for the 2015 campaign."

The NFL has not had a franchise in Los Angeles since 1995.
