Pandora announced the launch of its “Pandora TV” for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Wednesday, according to TechRadar.com.
The ability to use Pandora on the two consoles is not a new concept. However, this time around the streaming radio service made the experience better with the help of HTML5.
"Today we're excited to announce the next generation of Pandora for the living room: tv.pandora.com," said Tom Conrad, Chief Technology Officer for Pandora, through a blog post. "This is an entirely new experience designed from the ground up for your television and remote control."
The new Pandora is geared towards being more user friendly, complete with larger control buttons and album covers. According to the company this is all a part of the 10-foot experience.
"It's also a completely new approach which will allow us to evolve the "10 foot" experience of Pandora with greater flexibility and speed than ever before," said the CTO.
While the update does provide a better experience for listeners, the service still has some issues when it comes to the two consoles.
Unfortunately there is still no Pandora app for either the Xbox 360 or the PS3—meaning users can only access the service through the consoles’ web browsers.
Also, if you mess up while trying to log in you are required to type everything over again.
Pandora plans to keep growing in an effort to combat services such as Spotify, Last.fm and even Apple who is expected to announce the iRadio very soon.
"[Pandora TV] will spread to other environments as more vendors bring standards-compliant TV's and set top boxes to market in the coming months,” the company said in an interview with TechRadar.
