More than 50 artists will perform for 24 hours straight when MTV throws the largest online concert ever June 19, the network reports.
The third annual O Music Awards (online accolades voted chosen by fans) will also run during the festival. Hanson, Atlas Genius, Kate Nash and QuestLove of The Roots are among acts who will perform in the Viacom studios while their show is streamed online across the world. QuestLove will provide the back-beats during a 24-hour drum-athon throughout the whole festival, according to Reuters.
Viewers will be able to watch the only acts they want to see. Performances will be taking place live in the Viacom offices of Los Angeles, New York and Nashville.
O Award categories include Best Web-Born Artist, Fan Army FTW (For The Win) and Must-Follow Artist on Twitter. Frank Ocean and rocker Beck lead the awards nominations with two each, according to Reuters. Beyonce, Psy and Thirty Seconds to Mars are also among fan favorites, MTV reported.
The show kicks off 7 p.m. June 19. Fans can watch at OMusicAwards.com.
Other confirmed acts include 2AM Club, Boxer Rebellion, Chrisette Michele, Gavin DeGraw, Luke James, Langhorne Slim and X with more to be announced, MTV says. The O Award Make A Band Famous finalists Chill Moody, Darling Parade, the So So Glos, Striking Matches and Syd Arthur will also perform during the online event.
