For anyone who has not watched the latest episode of "Game of Thrones" The Rains of Castamere, stop reading here as this article will give away key plot details.

After Sunday night's emotionally heavy episode, viewers are still in shock from the events of the Red Wedding. The celebration that was supposed to give Robb Stark the push he needed to win the war against the Lannisters, instead ended with him being betrayed by Walden Frey and the Boltons. The act resulted in two of the show's most beloved characters, Robb and his mother Catelyn, being brutally murdered.

The scene was so graphic and emotionally charged, even the actors had trouble carrying the weight of filming the very difficult scene.

Richard Madden, he man who brought Robb to life, told Entertainment Weekly the scene "broke [his] heart" when he finally read it.

"For Arya to be so close to getting to me, I think that's what really hurt because that's what we all wanted - to get the family back together - even if it was only one of us coming back. And that's what made me really emotional about it," she said.

The 26-year-old actor confessed he "cried his eyes out" after shooting the scene but that the death is important to what the show is and where its headed.

Michelle Fairley, the actress who plays Cat even ducked a few phone calls from concerned crew members after filming the scene. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss attempted to call Fairley after the scene to see how she was doing but were only able to leave a voicemail. She eventually e-mailed them saying "Sorry I haven't been able to talk to anybody about the show for the past week because I've been so shattered."

As for George R.R. Martin, the man who made the call to kill off the heavy hitters in the Stark family, he re-confirmed it was "the hardest scene I've ever had to write."

Confessing to EW he wasn't able to write the scene until he had finished writing the rest of the third book in his "Song of Ice and Fire" series.

As bad as the actor's reaction to the Red Wedding was, it was nothing compared to unsuspecting viewers. Below is a compilation of people's reactions to the now infamous scene.
