Megan Hilty is officially a mom!
The 33-year-old former "Smash" actress and her husband, Brian Gallagher, welcomed a daughter, Viola Philomena, on Thursday in New York City. A representative for the actress confirmed the exciting news to People Magazine.
In June, the actress and singer told E! News that she and Gallagher were in the process of choosing a name for their child.
"There are no fruits or animals or food in general for her name," she said. "We have three possibilities and we are not telling anybody. We're just gonna meet her first and see which one fits her."
At the time, fellow-actor Gallagher told People, "My mother knits Christmas stockings every year for the new member of the family. She put in one request: She said, 'Listen, I have arthritis, so the fewer letters, the better for me. If you can do five letters or less, I'd really appreciate it.'"
In March, the couple, who met in a fitness class when they were both on Broadway, announced that they were expecting a baby via Twitter.
"Two years ago today I met the man of my dreams and now we're proud to announce we're starting a family," Hilty wrote.
"Yup! Working on a new project w/ @meganhilty! It's been in development for months now [and] is due in September! Working title: #GallagherBaby!" Gallagher added.
The newborn is the first child for the couple who married last November in Las Vegas. People reported that the bride wore a Badgley Mischka dress, while her husband sported a J. Lindeberg suit.
"I love The Palazzo and The Venetian, so we got married in The Venetian and stayed there for the weekend," Hilty told E! News. "It was a very intimate setting, we had our parents and our siblings - he's from New York and I'm from Seattle, so they met in Vegas."
