Southern California police arrested a 15-year-old boy for allegedly threatening to shoot students in schools.

The boy posted on Instagram warning the Santa Clarita Valley area residents that there would be a "huge" shooting and many were going to be killed. "We are aiming our guns mostly at high school students so you pieces of (expletive) better be ready because blood will be shed and families will suffer. No mercy will be shown. Slow and painful deaths will happen on a very dreadful day. I must not tell you which day it will be, you will find out yourself. Get ready (expletive)s it's time to die," the threats read.

Police alerted the parents in the Santa Clarita Valley area Saturday night. The threat posts included photos of weapons, dead bodies, a logo for a school that was actually in a different state and racist and sexist comments, reports NBC Los Angeles.

According to Lt. Brenda Cambra, the sign was for a school in another state with the same name. The threats were taken seriously by the police and they acted quickly to track the teen down.

In one post, the teen stated that the Valencia High School would be the first target. The posts have been removed and the teen suspect is being interrogated. The authorities said that the suspect actually did not have any guns and weapons.

Rob Challinor, superintendent of the William S. Hart Union School District, posted  a statement on Facebook saying, "Extra precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of our students and staff on all of our campuses, while this is being investigated," the statement said. "We are looking forward to a day of student learning tomorrow, as we begin the first full week of the new school year."
