Following the release of the Galaxy S4 smartphone just a few months ago, Samsung is gearing up to unveil a few new mobile devices in the coming weeks.
The South Korea-based electronics company has announced that it will be holding a press event in London on June 20 that will, presumably, focus heavily on additions and updates to the Galaxy and Ativ lineups.
The announcement came complete with close up images of three devices, suggesting to the world that at least three new gadgets will be announced at next month's already highly-anticipated press event.
No real details have been given about the cryptic close up images released by the company early on Monday. However, they appear to be teasers of new phones and/or tablet devices sharing a simple but crisp black and silver theme.
The event will be livestreamed on Samsung's mobile YouTube page. It's positioning in the season is ideal as it coincides with Microsoft's Build developer conference, happening one week later, and Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference which is occurring ten days prior to the London press conference.
With such close proximity to these major player's conferences, and just after the successful launch of the Galaxy S4, Samsung appears to be capitalizing on its current hot streak in the market. The company is in the fortunate position of covering both the Android operating system with the Galaxy series and the Windows 8 operating system with the Ativ series.
Fans of both operating systems will have something to look forward to on June 20 when the details of these cryptic close up images are finally revealed, as well as what the company has planned for the brands in terms of updates and new features.
According to CNET, an Ativ Tab was planned but canceled and the Ativ S Windows phone was released to a very mild reception by the public.
