Typically folks wish their prom pictures would never resurface, but that may not be the case for President Barck Obama.
Pictures from Obama's high school prom were published on Thursday by TIME under the title, "Grand Old Party", that show a 17-year-old future commander-in-chief right before heading out for the big night in Honolulu, H.I.
Obama stands with three of his friends - one guy and two girls - dressed in an all-white suit, blue shirt, blue tie, dark pans, and of course sporting a lei.
The other three in the photo - Gred Orme, Kelli Allman (at the time McCormack), and Megan Hughes - seem to be holding glasses filled with champagne, according to TIME.
The photo belongs to the president's high school best friend's date, Kelli Allman, and shows Barry and the gang heading out on a prom night double date.
"It was a really fun, happy time. We were all cracking up, and everyone was smiling," Allman said. "It was pretty typical from there out as far as what happens at prom: the dinner and the dancing and the photos."

Allman even shared what Barry - as he liked to be called - wrote in her yearbook.
"It has been so nice getting to know you this year. You are extremely sweet and foxy, I don't know why Greg would want to spend any time with me at all! You really deserve better than clowns like us: you even laugh at my jokes! It hope we keep in touch this summer, even though Greg will be gone. Call me up, and I'll buy you lunch sometimes... Your friend, Love Barry Obama," it said.
Then a student at Punahou School, Barack struggled with the ability to reconcile his feelings for his father leaving him and his mother. In his memoir Obama writes that he used some drugs, including marijuana and cocaine, to "push questions of who I was out of my mind."
He later understood those choices were a mistake and identified his high school drug use as his greatest moral foundering.
