Indiana Mother Gets Disturbing Anonymous Letter: 'You Have Two Lovely Daughters'

An Indiana mother received a mysterious, hair-raising letter on Saturday from an unknown psycho threatening to kidnap her daughters, CBS Chicago reported.

The anonymous letter was delivered, with a postmark and correct address, to the Gary, Indiana home of Alfreda Murphy.

"You have two lovely daughters..." the mysterious letter begins.

Murphy, who has six children, was so spooked that she called the police. Whoever wrote the letter knew details about Murphy's family, including the location where her children played outside two days ago, CBS Chicago reported.

"I and my friend have watched them ever since they moved in...almost had them on Thursday evening, will keep trying...Thank you!" the hand-written letter read.

Murphy and her children moved into the home two months ago. The note, postmarked June 6, apparently mentions Murphy's two eldest daughters.

"We will get them," the author wrote.

Murphy is now fearful for her children's lives.

"They're sending letters saying they're watching my kids and they almost had them this week," she told CBS Chicago.

The 60-word letter had no signature at the bottom and was there no name on the envelope. Gary police obtained the letter and are now investigating where it came from.

Meanwhile, in Maine, police arrested a man suspected of leaving sinister letters inside two mailboxes in Kennebunk earlier this month. Robert C. Simkowitz is accused of writing the notes with sexual undertones and placing them inside the mailboxes of other homeowners, the Portland Press Herald reported Wednesday.

"I will not stay away from your kids," read one of the notes.

The handwritten letters were signed with "pervert."

Simkowitz was charged with criminal threatening and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 3.
