The Cleveland Indians play the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday in Game 2 of their series. The game starts at 2:10 p.m. ET. Listen to the radio broadcast below.
Kansas City won Tuesday's game, 9-5. Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer hit a homer and finished the night with three RBIs, and starting pitcher Jason Vargas gave up three runs on six hits through seven innings pitched.
"I guess I'm glad I didn't know they scored 17 runs last night," Vargas told the Associated Press. "You just have to get ahead and execute and let the defense do what they do."
Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura (3-5, 3.38 ERA) is scheduled to start on Wednesday. He's coming off a 3-2 win on Wednesday against St. Louis. The win, in which he gave up just two runs on seven hits, snapped the 23-year-old's four-game losing streak.
"He looked fine, threw the ball well, had good velocity on his fastball," Twins manager Ned Yost told the team website. "He settled down, got us through six innings. I really thought about sending him back out in the seventh, but 91 pitches, I didn't really want to take him much over 100."
Opposing Ventura will be Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer (1-2, 4.08). He's looking to bounce back from Friday's 6-4 loss at Texas, where he gave up four earned runs on five hits and earned a no-decision.
"Last outing he probably got a little conscious about pitching in a little too much," Indians manager Terry Francona told the team website. "It's something we do stress a lot, because I think it opens up the plate, especially with some of the bigger guys because if you let them get their arms extended they hurt you."
Bauer has yet to win a road game. He's 0-3 with an 8.10 ERA in his six starts on the road this season, according to the Associated Press.
