Jennifer Lawrence returns to her shape-shifting character Mystique in the X-Men series' upcoming sequel, "X-Men: Days of Future Past," in a scaly blue costume revealing her toned body.
Director Bryan Singer released the first look of the Oscar-winning actress, Jennifer Lawrence, Monday, in her scaly blue Mystique costume for the upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Lawrence looks absolutely stunning in her body-fitting costume, which brings out her well-toned figure.
Lawrence has successfully replaced Rebecca Romijn as Mystique in the X-Men series. Lawrence took over in 2010's "X-Men: First Class."
"First look: #JenniferLawrence as a vengeful #Mystique. #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast," Singer tweeted along with a picture of Lawrence posing in a blue scaly costume with yellow contacts and orange tresses.
Lawrence had earlier expressed her excitement at wearing the body suit designed for her role as Raven a.k.a Mystique in the upcoming X-Men sequel. "I'm so excited, because I'm going to wear a body suit. It will be from neck down so it will cut out time and the blisters," she said. She also revealed in an interview with Washington Post that she had to sit for eight long hours until her make-up was done for her character in "X-Men: First Class."
Singer earlier released 'behind the scenes' photographs of Halle Berry's character in his "X-Men: Days of Future Past" as a weather-controlling mutant Storm.
Singer has also shared some photos and videos of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan on the sets, who will be playing the roles of Professor X and Magneto, respectively. Similarly, Hugh Jackman and Nicholas Hoult will be playing their usual roles as Wolverine and the Beast. Singer also posted a surprise picture of Peter Dinklage but did not disclose the nature of his character in the movie.
"Reviewing tomorrow's work on the flight back to Montreal with #PeterDinklage #XMen #daysoffuturepast," he captioned a photo of himself with Dinklage on the plane.
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" will feature other actors including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Rose Byrne. Singer's upcoming X-Men is based on a story from "Uncanny X-Men" comic books, which includes a time travel element back in the days of Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run.
The "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will be released in the United States July 18, 2014.
