New York (6-6) can close out the four-game series with another win. The Yankees moved to 2-1 in the series after their 7-4 win on Saturday. Their offense came alive behind two homeruns from Brian McCann, along with one homer each from Carlos Beltran, Alfonso Soriano and Kelly Johnson.
Although McCann has struggled at-bat in his first season with New York, manager Joe Girardi admitted he hasn't been worried about the slugger's hitting.
"He's hit the ball better than this numbers indicated," Girardi told the Associated Press. "I was not really concerned about it. I know he's going to hit."
The Yankees are expected to have Derek Jeter, whom the team rested on Saturday, back in the lineup for Game 4.
"I have to manage him with the focus of winning games and keeping him healthy, not it being a farewell tour," Girardi told the team website. "It's not the last week of the season and these games are obviously important to us - today, tomorrow, the next month. I have to manage that."
Yankees pitcher Ivan Nova (1-1, 8.68 ERA) is scheduled to start Game 4. He looks to bounce back from Tuesday's loss that saw him give up seven runs in just over 3 innings.
Felix Doubront (1-1, 9.00) will oppose Nova. Doubront has also scheduled and is coming off a loss to Texas on Tuesday; he gave up five runs in 2 2/3 innings.
