Rapper Trick Daddy was arrested at his Florida home on Thursday for drug and gun charges, WPTV reported.
The rap artist, whose real name is Maurice Young, was approached by authorities around 10 a.m. in Miramar. He reportedly asked officers if they were regarding child support payments, WPTV said.
Young, a convicted felon, also admitted he had been driving with a suspended license.
According to deputies, he said he had cocaine on him and "maybe a marijuana roaches, but no grow house."
Once they investigated his home, they discovered one gram of the drug and a 9mm Sig Sauer gun underneath a pillow. However, as a convicted felon, it is illegal for him to own a firearm.
He currently faces charges for possession of firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammo by a convicted felon, possession of cocaine, and driving on a suspended license.
In February 2003, Young was arrested on charges stemming from a dispute at a basketball game and again in September after officers found cocaine and marijuana in his pocket. He pleaded guilty to charges and received probation.
In 1991, he was convicted of cocaine possession, carrying a concealed weapon, and violating probation -- prompting a stint in state prison.
Young, 40, is best known for his 2001 hit song "I'm a Thug."
