On Wednesday, Cassandra Cales, the sister of Stacy Peterson, believes she has found her sister's remains after 17 years. Stacy Peterson had been married to Drew Peterson, 49, a former Bolingbrook Police Sergeant.

Mr. Peterson was sentenced to 38 years for the killing of his third wife, Kathleen Savio in 2013.

The disappearance of Stacy Peterson in 2007, as well as the prosecution of her husband Drew Peterson in the death of Savio, 23, captured public attention.

Appearing on "Crime Nation" on the CW, Cales shared an underwater video of what she believes are the skeletal remains of her missing sister.

The remains were found in a canal in Lockport, located 35 miles outside of Chicago. "News Nation" previously reported that Cassandra Cales submitted a tip to police about the remains four years ago.

Officials say they searched the area, but no remains were found.

"It literally sucks the life out of me because I know she's there," Cales said on "Crime Nation."

"Where my sister's remains are in the canal - it's not accessible, but me and my team are recovering her."

Cales said she and her team searched with sonar and were able to get live video of what seems to be a human skull turned upside-down, two eye sockets filled with silt, and a jaw bone that fell off.

"It's somebody," Cales said. "Whether it's my sister or not, they need to be brought home."
