MS Dhoni, India's regular skipper for major tournaments, is sidelined on Wednesday because of injury. Virat Kohli will fill in for Dhoni as captain against a Bangladesh side playing at home.
"The Asia Cup is my first big tournament as captain," Kohli said, via CricBuzz.com. "It excites me to have a young group that I can have a chat with, and it gives me a chance to test where I stand as an International captain."
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim, meanwhile, criticized his own team for not having a say in which players made the Asia Cup roster.
"I am unhappy that the selectors didn't consult me before making the team," he said. "In that sense, I am shocked. I wasn't aware of the inclusions and exclusions."
The match will be played at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Bangladesh. Weather.com forecasts a sunny day with no chance of rain; temperatures could reach as high as 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
