'The Voice' Season 6 Starts on A High Note, Adam Levine Says He Heard "The Best Voice' In The History Of The Show

"The Voice" Season 6 kicked off on a high note Monday, and the first episode may have featured "the best voice" in the history of the show, according to show judge Adam Levine.

There's no doubt that NBC's popular talent show "The Voice" features some of the best voices ever heard on any stage but this year there might be something even better. The show has just hosted its first episode on its 6th season and already one performance is touted to be the "best" in the show's history.

Hopefuls Dawn & Hawkes who managed to turn only two chairs stole judge Adam Levine's heart with the first note. According to the Maroon 5 member, the duo's performance was his "favorite" so far ever on the show. However, his statement has already received quite a bit of backslash. It's no secret that Levine is a diehard fan of The Beetles and so many have stated that his recent statement may have come because the duo's song choice. Dawn & Hawkes opted to sing "I've Just Seen a Face" for their blind audition. The duo picked Levine over Shakira for their coach.

Another memorable performance of the night was Christina Grimmie. This 19-year-old has already become a singing sensation. In fact, the show used her "Wrecking Ball" performance as apromo for the Season 6 premier. Grimmie too chose Levine over the other three judges - Shakira, Usher and Blake Shelton.

T.J. Wilkins was another star of the night. He managed to turn the chairs of all three male judges with his cover of Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets." What made the performance all the more memorable was the R&B spin he gave to John's number. Wilkins chose Usher over the other two judges.

Other contestants that made it through to the next round include Biff Gore (team USHER), Jeremy Briggs (team SHAKIRA), Kristen Merlin (team Shakira), Jake Worthington (team BLAKE) and Bria Kelly (team USHER).
