President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. paused classes in public schools at all levels and government activities in Metro Manila and Bulacan to allow for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 opening ceremonies.

The Philippine government has announced that all public school classes and work in government buildings in Metro Manila and Bulacan will be canceled on August 25, 2023, in honor of the start of the eagerly awaited FIBA Basketball World Cup (FBWC) 2023.
