[BREAKING] Messing with Musk: Austin Police Reports ‘Shooting’ Situation in Tesla Giga Factory

There were unconfirmed reports of an active shooter inside the Tesla Giga Factory in Austin, Texas Friday morning (July 28).

Police were called to the facility and urged workers to evacuate the site amid reports of a gunman inside. However, police could not confirm if there were any shots fired.

ABC's Austin affiliate KVUE received information from several Tesla employees that they got an email regarding an "active attacker" at around 05:00 Central Time (06:00 Eastern, 10:00 UTC), prompting the road to the factory to be closed and with backups along the State Highway 130 toll road.

Situation Ongoing

Very little is known about the incident, but local reporters confirm Tesla employees received the email.

"There is an Active Attacker near column location 35Z at the Giga Factory Texas." the email read. "Please take cover and stand by for further details."

KVUE reporter Pamela Comme released a video on the platform X, another Elon Musk-owned entity formerly known as Twitter, about the incident, quoting police saying everyone needed to evacuate the building immediately.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) told reporters it was in the process of clearing the building and that deputies were not yet hearing gunshots.

No casualties were also recorded as of this report.
