According to the Epoch Times' latest report, the special counsel investigation that Trump is talking about is connected to the U.S. Capitol breach.

Via his official Truth Social announcement, the former U.S. president said that he received a letter on Sunday, July 16, saying that he is targeted by a January 6th Grand Jury investigation.

The ex-American leader said that this happened when he was spending time with his family after going to the Turning Point event in Florida.

He said that the letter was sent by Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden's DOJ.

"Giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment," the ex-POTUS added.

CNN Politics reported that two anonymous sources claimed that the letter informed Trump's lawyers that the former American leader could face charges in the investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump received the number of votes needed to secure the party's nomination.

Trump claims that the new investigation against him was filed as election interference. He added that it is a "complete and total political weaponization of law enforcement."

The ex-POTUS added that the third Indictment and Arrest was issued because he is Biden's number one political opponent. He even claimed that he is dominating the current American leader in the race for Presidency.

He highlighted his recent Turning Point event, saying that he won the Straw poll against other Republican candidates with 85.7%.

Donald Trump shared his disappointment, saying that it has never happened in the United States before. He also claimed that the Democrats illegally spied on his presidential campaign.

As of writing, the White House refused to comment regarding the accusations made by Trump.
