An autopsy medical report has revealed Olympic Gold medalist Tori Bowie's cause of death.

Authorities found Bowie, 32 years old, died in her Florida home last May 2 after performing a welfare check.

The three-time Olympic medalist in track and field died in childbirth complications, according to her autopsy medical report, says ESPN.

The Orange County (Florida) Medical Examiner's Office autopsy report disclosed that the US Olympian was pregnant during her untimely death. The autopsy further estimated that Bowie was roughly eight months pregnant when she tragically died.

On top of that, the report notes that she was in active labor at the time of her demise. USAToday's autopsy report mentioned that Bowie was carrying a "well-developed fetus" upon her passing.

Medical officials say the US Olympian's complications include respiratory distress and eclampsia. Meanwhile, the medical examiner says that her manner of death was natural, dismissing foul play.

Bowie was a world-class sprinter who won a silver medal in the 100-meter dash at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She also won a bronze medal in the 2016 4x100-meter relay and a gold medal in the 2015 World Championships 100-meter dash. All in all, she took home three medals from the 2016 Olympic Games.

Besides her remarkable stint in Rio, Bowie also joined the championship race in London a year after, or in 2017, to be more exact.

As per CBS Sports, the sports agency of Bowie confirmed her death last May 3. In a statement, Icon Management Inc. says, "[we have] lost a client, dear friend, daughter, and sister." In a tweet, they paid tribute to the US Olympian, remembering her as a "champion" and a "beacon of light that shined so bright."

The news sent shockwaves throughout the sporting community, leaving fans and fellow athletes in disbelief and sorrow.

Team USA Athletes Commission mourned her untimely death, saying they are "deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Team USA athlete and 3x medalist Tori Bowie." The Commission also honored her for the incredible mark she left in the world of Track and Field sports and the Team USA community.

CBS Sports notes that Bowie began her track and field athlete career roughly a decade ago or in 2013. Two years later, her career took off. The Mississippi native won a bronze medal at the Beijing World Championship 2015.
