The world of glitz and glamor has lost one of its brightest stars again.
According to USA Today, the giant streamer Netflix shared the statement of Shay's family, which confirmed the demise of the 'Bling Empire' cast member.
The family announced the unfortunate demise of the 62-year-old Japanese-American in a statement. They say, "It saddens our hearts to announce that Anna Shay, a loving mother, grandmother, charismatic star, and our brightest ray of sunshine, has passed away."
Shay's loved ones continued to pay tribute to her, noting that she has "taught [them] many life lessons on how not to take life too seriously and to enjoy the finer things." They added that she "will be forever missed but never forgotten."
The cause of Shay's untimely demise has been confirmed as a stroke, according to the statement of her bereaved family.
Shay became a household name with her role in 'Bling Empire,' a reality series that offered a mesmerizing glimpse into the extravagant lives of wealthy Asian and Asian American individuals in Los Angeles. Her larger-than-life persona and dazzling presence captivated audiences worldwide, making her an instant fan favorite.
According to her previous interview with People Magazine, Shay never actually anticipated the popularity and success of 'Bling Empire.' She admitted, "I wasn't even expecting to be in front of the camera." The matriarch of the reality show described herself as "very shy." So she just "went along with whatever situation was happening."

The 'Bling Empire' matriarch was born in Japan. Her parents are Ai Oizumi Shay, a Russian and Japanese, and Edward Shay, an American industrialist, who turns out to be the Pacific Architects and Engineers founder.
But in 2006, Tatler reveals that Shay, together with her siblings, sold the firm that their father built from the ground up for a whopping $1.2 billion back in 2006. The company was involved in offering contract defense services to the US, NBC notes.
Besides the money she inherited from her father and the profit of the company sale, Shay made money appearing on the Netflix reality show. However, her pay from the series remains clandestine.
Estimates suggest that the net worth of Shay is around $600 million before her untimely demise, as per In Touch Weekly.
