Jay Briscoe Cause of Death Revealed; Wrestling World in Shock

Several wrestling personalities paid tribute to multiple wrestling champion Jay Brisco, who died in a tragic accident on Tuesday.

Veteran Ring of Honor (ROH) superstar Jay Briscoe passed away on Tuesday at the age of 38, according to news sources.

Briscoe died tragically in "what we have heard was a 'car accident," according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, as reported by Bleacher Report.

Jay Briscoe Cause of Death was a vehicle accident. The incident allegedly took place in Maryland's Laurel. Two individuals perished Tuesday night in a fatal car accident near Laurel, as per Delaware State Police.

Another source stated a lady in another automobile died too. Briscoe's daughter was reportedly involved in the collision, according to the emergency medical services record that the source was able to view, WION reported.

Briscoe had a storied career alongside his brother Mark, winning the ROH Tag Team Championships 13 times throughout his career. Additionally, Briscoe won two ROH world championships.

Wrestling Stars Pay Tribute to Jay Briscoe

Jay Briscoe's death was a devastating news for the wrestling community and it earned reactions from the industry's notable personalities.

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) superstar Matt Hardy, who has wrestled with Jay more than a dozen times, discussed reasons why they had a strong connection.

Hardy noted on Twitter that he heard the news while flying. "I'm DEVASTATED that Jay Briscoe (Jamin Pugh) tragically died today," one-half of the legendary Hardy Boyz tag team said. He also praised Jay's sincerity and utmost love for his family, as per a WrestlingInc story.

"I'm heartbroken for his family," Hardy said.

AEW superstar Chris Jericho on Twitter asked for prayers for the Briscoe family. "Trust me. This is worse than you think."

Tony Khan, CEO of AEW, paid homage to Briscoe on Twitter and sent his condolences to his family.
