Ukrainian President Zelensky has been requesting increased air defense system aid from international allies as Russia continues to strike Kyiv and other cities.

Kamikaze drones struck the Ukrainian capital region of Kyiv early Thursday, as occupants woke to air raid sirens for the fourth straight morning following Russian missile attacks earlier this week, Ukrainian authorities reported.

Oleksiy Kuleba, governor of the Kyiv region, said the Russian attack, carried out with the use of Iranian-made drones, happened in that part of the country, according to AP News.

Ukrainian officials reported that Russian strikes across the nation had resulted in 13 deaths and 37 injuries in the last 24 hours.

On Telegram, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy director of the presidential office, said that "critical infrastructure facilities" in the area had been attacked. He did not specify which ones sustained damages caused by the Russian drones.

Overnight shelling in Mykolaiv, Ukraine's southern city, demolished a 5-story residential complex.

An 11-year-old kid was rescued from the debris where he had been trapped for six hours, while seven others were still missing as of Thursday morning, according to Vitali Kim, governor of the Mykolaiv area.

The mayor of Mykolaiv confirmed on Thursday that rescuers discovered the remains of a 31-year-old male and an 80-year-old woman from the rubble of the wrecked residential structure.

Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych reported on his Telegram channel that rescuers had pulled out the bodies of two dead residents, according to an update from CNN.

Senkevych claims that search and rescue efforts are continuing. He also urged residents to stay away from windows.

More Individuals Burried, Missing

Officials claimed that a Russian S-300 missile, often employed in striking military aircraft, was responsible for the damage to the structure

Five more individuals are still feared to be buried under the debris, as reported by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service. At least 37 rescue personnel were deployed with 9 pieces of equipment.

On Thursday morning, authorities said seven individuals were still missing following the Russian drones airstrike.

As Kyiv's troops advance a military campaign targeted at retaking territory captured by Moscow, early dawn assaults on Ukraine's southern front have become a regular occurrence in the Russia Ukraine war.

At least four of the 19 persons killed and over 100 injured in Monday's nationwide strikes targeted the capital city of Kyiv, where attacks had grown uncommon recently.

Zelensky Pleads for More Military Aid

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been requesting expanded air defense equipment support from international allies following multiple Russian missile attacks in recent days, per CNBC.

Zelensky noted in his Wednesday address that it is becoming more for the international community that helping Ukraine defend its skies "is one of the most important humanitarian tasks for Europe" as "Russian terror" becomes more brazen and "cruel."

After striking vital infrastructure around the nation on Monday, Tuesday, and, to a lesser extent, yesterday, Russia caused damage to power and water systems in several locations.

In most of the country, Zelenskyy added, power has been totally restored, while repairs are still ongoing in four areas.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin met at a summit in Kazhakstan. As per a Reuters report, Turkey sought to formally propose hosting peace negotiations between Russia and the West to resolve Russia Ukraine war. Putin presented a gas hub plan to maintain Russian energy influence over Europe.
