As all-star guard Donovan Mitchell heads to Cleveland, basketball stars and fans expect a solid performance from the Cavs this upcoming NBA season.

Donovan Mitchell, a three-time NBA All-Star guard, was reportedly moved from the Utah Jazz to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday in exchange for three other players and three NBA Draft selections.

The agreement was made two months after the Jazz traded star French big man Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to ESPN and The Athletic.

Cleveland will trade to the Jazz Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, a 7-foot forward from Finland, Ochai Agbaji, a 22-year-old US guard, three additional first-round selections in the future, as well as two pick swaps, according to a report from AFP published by The Manila Times.

The 23-year-old American guard Sexton is allegedly signing a four-year, $72 million sign-and-trade agreement with the Utah Jazz.

Although neither team immediately acknowledged the switch, Donnovan "Spider" Mitchell reposted Darius Garland's tweet "10 and spider emoji" with exclamation marks.

In addition to the proceeds from the Gobert deal, the Jazz also acquired nine players, nine of whom were 2022 first-round picks, three pick swaps from 2023 to 2029, and seven first-round NBA Draft picks.

Last season, Mitchell averaged 25.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 steals-all career highs.

He will play with Garland, 2022 All-Star center Jarrett Allen, and 2022 All-Rookie forward Evan Mobley on the Cavaliers' roster.

Cleveland Cavs: Now a Force in The Eastern Conference

The opportunity to work with the 22-year-old Darius Garland reportedly excites Mitchell personally. For many years to come, that should be a thrilling combination in Cleveland.

Everyone responded to the news as soon as it appeared on Twitter, even active NBA players.

Mitchell will be in an excellent basketball environment. He should be able to score many victories while wearing a Cavaliers outfit.

He is leaving a terrific circumstance, though, with a center who has won the defensive player of the year award thrice and who didn't press for the type of offensive role that many other players do. Mitchell might have to learn to share a little more on a team with Garland, Mobley, Allen, and the aforementioned supporting cast members.

Lakers superstar and former Cavs LeBron James acknowledges that Donovan Mitchell's addition makes the Cavaliers a formidable opponent. With their significant signing, the Cavaliers have made a lot of waves, CBS Sports reported.

The Cavaliers' new addition of Mitchell, according to NBA legend Magic Johnson, will make them tough team in the East.

The Mitchell Trade's Effect on The Knicks

The Knicks are not to blame for not going all-in for Mitchell, but Leon Rose, the team president, may be under pressure to make effective use of all the additional draft assets he has accumulated in recent years, according to Mike Vaccaro of The New York Post.

Knicks supporters will have to hope that Rose's perseverance and desire to adhere to his strategy will finally pay off, according to Dan Devine of The Ringer.

Mitchell and the Knicks appeared to be making not-so-covert signals at one another for years. It was inevitable that he would end up there. Tony Jones of The Athletic reported last week that Mitchell's top three teams to play for were the Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, and Miami Heat, according to Bleacher Report.

This is one of the few instances of a star not receiving precisely what he wanted in the era of player empowerment.
