The Alabama jail officer Vicki White is seen helping prisoner lover Casey White escape Lauderdale prison as authorities reveal that the two have a "special relationship."

The alarming moment a female prison officer assisted her 6'9 felon lover in escaping jail was recorded on tape, with cops warning that the couple may be armed with an AR-15 and shotgun.

Vicky White, 56, is shown holding the door open for a cuffed Casey White, 38, on security footage, with a second perspective showing them getting into a marked police car and driving away.

An Arrest Warrant Has Been Issued

Authorities claim the two escaped the Lauderdale County, Alabama, jail at approximately 9:30 am on April 29 and are now on the run. Vicky and Casey had a special friendship, yet the two are not related despite having the same last name.

The sheriff's police car seen in the CCTV footage was discovered in the parking lot of a local shopping mall, with both Whites missing. Vicky had recently sold her home and was about to retire from her work as a high-ranking female correctional officer on the day the two vanished, according to the inquiry.

Around 9 am, she informed her coworkers she was taking Casey White, a murder suspect, to the county courtroom for a mental health exam. She also informed her coworkers that she was feeling unwell and that she wanted to see a doctor later. It wasn't until 3:30 pm that anyone noticed the two were missing. The US Marshals Service is offering up to $10,000 for information leading to Casey White's arrest and $5,000 for information leading to Vicky White's arrest, The Sun reported.

According to Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton, Vicki White's duty was to arrange transfers, so no one questioned her when she told other police she needed to take the detainee from jail.

In September 2020, the convict was charged with two counts of capital murder in the stabbing death of Connie Ridgeway, 58, according to the agency. According to WBRC, he was serving a 75-year sentence for a 2015 crime spree that included holding six people at gunpoint and shooting one of them as well as a dog.

Vicki White stated she was going to seek medical care after leaving the prisoner off because she wasn't feeling well, according to Singleton. She was alone when she conveyed the suspected killer, which he described as a clear breach of rules, as per New York Post.

Alabama Inmate, Jail Officer Had "Special Relationship"

The local sheriff stated that the missing prison officer and the fugitive murder suspect had a special relationship. According to the US Marshals Service, they may be driving a 2007 orange or copper Ford Edge with slight damage to the left-back bumper.

Casey White had intended to flee the Lauderdale County Detention Center in the fall of 2020, but officials foiled his plan before he could carry it out.

When authorities heard of the scheme, they discovered a handmade knife in his hands and discovered that he was trying to kidnap someone, according to the sheriff. Casey White was transported to state prison and stayed there until February 2022, when he returned to the Lauderdale County institution for court hearings relating to the murder accusation, according to the sheriff.

Casey White and Vicki White were contacted after he was transferred from the county prison to state custody. The nature of such contact was unclear at first. According to Singleton, Vicki White has been discussing retirement for a few months and turned in her papers on Thursday. He stated she was supposed to leave work on Friday, the day the two went missing. Vicki White was arrested and charged with allowing or aiding escape.

Casey White's height of 6 feet, 9 inches, according to Marty Keely, US marshal for the Northern District of Alabama, may make him stand out. Anyone who sees them should phone 911, according to Keely. Vicki White, a 17-year veteran of the sheriff's office, was praised by Singleton as an exemplary employee, according to ABC7.
