A West Michigan woman faces charges for shooting at a McDonald's drive-thru window after receiving wrong food orders from the attendants, early Monday.
Police charged Shaneka Monique Torres, 29, with two counts of felony weapons offence. According to the authorities, she went to McDonald's outlet at 28th street near Madison Avenue SE with her friend Sunday evening. The workers gave her the wrong order, which made her angry. However, they told her the order on the next visit would be free, reports Detroit Free Press.
Following this she went to the same outlet next at around 3 a.m. Monday, where she again received an incorrect burger order. This made the Grand Rapids native furious and she began shouting at them. She then opened fire into the drive-thru window of McDonald's. No one was reported hurt after the shooting.
The police tracked Torres down from the phone number she gave to the restaurant. She was arrested shortly after the incident at her home, reports WZZM 13abc.
Torres was brought before the court via video arraignment Monday afternoon. She was held on a $50,000 bond by Judge Kimberly Schaefer. Her next arraignment is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21, with Judge Michael Christensen.
This is not the first time Torres has had a brush with the law. In January 2013, she was under police scrutiny for driving under a suspended license, reports mlive. She was charged with improper plates on her vehicle in the same incident.
