Actress Julie Gayet, the alleged partner of French President Francois Hollande, is nominated for the French equivalent of the Oscars.
Gayet, 41, who does not have any acting award to her credit, has been nominated for 'César' in the 'best supporting actress' category for her performance in 'Quai d'Orsay.' Her role was of a nymphomaniac diplomat in a comedy movie about the French foreign ministry, reported The Independent.
The mother of two shot to fame after her alleged affair with Hollande was published in the 'Closer' magazine. Following the reports, the 59-year-old president parted ways with his long-time partner Valerie Trierweiler.
According to the Agence France-Presse, the supporting actress in French literally means 'female second role.' This became a subject of ridicule among the French people on social media. Gayet kept mum after the news of the affair broke out.
However, Hollande did not have the privilege of escaping questions from the media persons. During a press conference at an Anglo-French meeting reporters bombarded the President with queries about the relationship. "Do you think your private life has made France an international joke, are you still having an affair with Julie Gayet and do you wish she was here?" a scribe asked. Hollande's only reply was, "I will not answer."
Last weekend, he ended his relationship with Trierweiler. On her trip to India, the 49-year-old ex-First Lady of France told French reporters that the break-up was mutual and that she was not dumped.
Hollande, who has never married, is a father of four children with ex-partner Selonge Royal. He separated from her for Trierweiler.
