What a year has it been! Your employees have probably worked in very different circumstances than they ever have before. The pandemic has caused everyone stress and your business has probably been affected in one or multiple ways. But how do you say "thank you for everything you've done and being so flexible" with a New Year's gift to your employees? In this article, we give you some ideas!

Get a workstation delivered

Maybe you've already fixed this months ago, but with many places deciding that working in an office is a no-no, your employees need a good workstation at home. That means they need an office chair that will support their body just right so they don't have to work on a kitchen chair and preferably a second screen. Don't forget the keyboard and mouse! If you think fixing this all yourself is too much of a hassle, we've got good news for you: there are companies specialised in workstations that can deliver everything to your employees' doorstep.

Flowers are a classic

Sometimes people say flowers are a cliché, but let's be real: everyone is happy when they get a lovely bouquet of flowers! And did you know that there are companies out there that sell 'flowers by mail'? Yes, that's a thing! Your employee gets a package of flowers in the mail that fits into their mailbox. You can believe us that this will be a great surprise!

A real, personal thank you card

And let's not forget how important a sincere thank you can be. You might have busy days as an entrepreneur, but don't forget to tell your employees how glad you are they've put in so much work in the last year. You can do this by calling every one personally or writing sincere, personal thank you cards. Don't print out the same card for all your employees unless you want it to end up in the trash straight away!

How to deliver gifts in a corona proof manner

If your employees live in your area, you can opt for delivering the presents yourself. Make sure you do this in a corona proof manner! That means keep your 1,5 meter distance from each other and sanitize your hands often. If you have big presents to deliver, it might be a good idea to rent a van. If a moving van is expensive, we recommend you to check a bigger travel van, e.g. a van for 9 people (Dutch: 9 persoons bus huren). Because so many people aren't travelling at the moment, the price of these vans is often reduced. See if your local car rental place has any good offers! If you're in the Netherlands, check out Diks, with rental locations in e.g. Amsterdam and Almere (Dutch: auto huren Almere).
